Lucky Man

"The opening Terrapin (its debut) ushers in the fact that 1977 was going to bring with it an entirely new level of Grateful Dead musical exploration.

It’s a mind-blowing thought to consider what it must have been like to attend this show and have this be the opening event"

It was more like "what's this ? ". We really didn't appreciate how good of a show it was . It sure was fun, and very different from my first one at the Shrine (10/14/76) . One thing that struck us was that they didn't really play many of their better known songs . We did get "Sugaree" . This was an intriguing band .
We were so green, it was like "Hey they played US BLUES !" Later when I became more of a Head, I didn't realize I had seen them play "Help>Slip>Frank" till I got the tape !
I know I have said some of this before .
